New directions!

If you haven't noticed, the name of my blog has changed because I have changed. I will eventually change the actual link to this blog as that is the new name of what I am trying to do here.

As I said, I've done some changing. God changing! Papa has been working in me in such a precious way that I truly have to share it here, now. Back in April of 2010 I had a couple of dear friends share their experience of being prophesied over. During this prophecy an artist actually painted a picture directly for them. They also witnessed artists painting during worship service. God spoke to my friends to come tell me that that was one of His plans for me. I was very excited, but, soaked it in much prayer. I had heard of worship painting before, but, just wasn't sure how to go about it. I had also been given Words for people about something they may be going through, prophetically. So, the idea of painting it was incredible. Only problem was I'd never witnessed it myself, or seen anyone do it. So, I waited. Frankly, I was terrified! I am typically a very detailed, SLOW painter. I've struggled with perfectionism many times. So, I just couldn't see how I could paint any kind of meaningful picture that looked decent in only 30-45 minutes of worship time. I guess pride was the issue here.

Back in early January an opening came up to visit this amazing church that would have a painter at this special worship service. From this precious girl, I learned just how hard I had tried to make it all. I don't know why I thought I had to just pull this picture out of nowhere every Sunday. I mean, preachers study ahead, they pray. They let the FATHER tell them what to say BEFORE hand. Yes, sometimes, after making all of the notes and checking references, God will change the message before or even midstream. But, they have a place to start. So, I started seeking, worshipping, and praying harder than I remember doing in a long time. I said, ok God, if this is what you want from me, then show what you would want.

On a Saturday night in early January, I received this really cool picture in my head with planets, stars, nebulas, much of God's creation and the thought "How Great is Our God" as a title. The next day I was not able to paint for various reasons, but, I was stopped in my tracks when, not knowing anything about what was going to be sung, that very song was one in our worship service. Plus, it was the theme of the pastors message. Talk about God really revealing Himself and His faithfulness!! Wow!! He whispered, "See? You CAN hear me!" I cried.

So, the next week, I got materials together that I thought I was to use. I usually work in oil or watercolor, but, it was recommended that it be done in acrylic because of the mess and dry time. Wow, another challenge. I haven't painted much acrylic in a very long time. But, yet again, God is so very faithful. The following posts will show each of the pictures and what God did with each one and in some ways, how He showed me WHAT to do. It's been an amazing ride!! I've had so VERY much support from my little family.

To explain the name change I have to tell one more little story. I was asked by another dear friend what I was going to call this new work. This scripture had always been precious to me as it truly is the meaning of my name. I never understood that because I said, now God you know I'm not much of a morning person. HOW could that be my names meaning. Recently, He told me, "No, you don't understand. YOU are to be the joy in OTHERS mornings." What a revelation for me. Maybe in this small way, He can use me to touch others and be their Joy in the Morning. To HIM be the glory!!
